Hi all
this is a first time post,I own a Volvo T5 850 (2.3 ) estate and I need help to identify a part

it is black plastic cylinder 150mm long 130mm diameter, on one end it has fittings to attach 3 small hoses,it has the words Purge tank on it.It fell of whilst driving and got damaged.
A mechanic thinks it is a charcoal filter for emmision control. He sugessted I go to a Volvo dealer to identify the part. They have said it is called a carbon filter but I cannot find this part listed online.
Can anyone help.

many thanks

Hello Saul its nice to have you here man! I hope you stick around, they call me Xpiece.

It has something to do with your cold start valve. I do not know where it connects. This is why you are having trouble keeping it connected. I suggest you look around underneath and on top and look for two hoses that aren't connected or a mounting place for it where the two screws would fit.

Thanks Xpiece, the problem I have is in identifying the part, the existing part got damaged when it became detached from its fixing so therefore I need the name of the part to order a replacement.
many thanks

If you supply a good photo of the item and I'm sure someone will identify it for you straight away.

You could take it to the dealer, ask, then say many thanks and leave. Then get the part yourself.
