So I spent the majority of last week replacing my front suspension bushings, which took a lot more muscle then I expected (I broke two 3000lb vices!).

In the process I of course had to mess with the ball joint and the CV joint. I know that I put a very small puncture in the CV boot and the very next day took it to the shop to get the boot replaced. I had drove less than 10 miles on it, and since the CV was still good, I convinced them to just replace the boot.

But now I'm hearing a clicking noise from the other side of the car (pass. side).

In the process of replacing the bushings I opted to not remove the wheel hub. I instead disconnected the control arm and pulled the CV Joint out of the transmission with a firm yank and worked around it.

My question is if there is any way i damaged the CV Joint in the process? Is it possible I separated the joint when I yanked it?

Also I can't get the car repaired until this weekend, is it fine for the rest of the car if I keep driving it? I figure if the joint is bad I'm going to have to just get it replaced, so I figure no harm no foul in driving it if only the joint is getting damaged.

BY THE WAY that new movie Wanted is terrible don't go see it.

Doesn't sound good, but I think you're fine to drive.

So I hope nobody is as stupid as me, but I got under the car last night to see if maybe there was something that had flown up and broke the CV boot, or if the joint had pulled out and I feel really dumb afterwards.

As soon as I put a lug wrench on the lugs I knew what was wrong with the car:

I forgot to tighten the lug nuts.

The wheel kept hitting against the hub. I'm lucky that the wheel didn't go flying off. I tend to forget to tighten the lugs after I lift the car and take the wheels off to work on the front end, but in the past I've always remembered to tighten them before driving. I completely forgot about it. I'm lucky I didn't do some serious damage.
