Drives: 2000 volvo v40 1.8se
Hi,
I have a 2000 v40 1.8 se, ive had it for around 2 years without any major problems. Just recently the engine has started a regular rattle similar to a tappet noise. The garage says its the variable valve sprocket on the inlet side that needs replacing, but at £300 its not likely to happen anytime soon. Can anyone advise any alternative actions. The engine is the newer one,so im told, the engine code is B4164S2.
