When trying to close my 2004 C70 convertible top,the rear lid opened fully then everything stopped. I noticed that the "truck open" light was on and figiured that's why it stopped working. Because the lid was already up, I couldn't open the trunk. After a few frustrating hours, I unbolted the top cover lid and was able to open trunk. After closing the trunk I noticed the "truck open" light had gone out, so I bolted the lid back on and the top began to function. It is out of sync however and the lid release on the driver's side catches when the lid is openening and the rear window section of the top never goes back down. So, the top is up, but the rear window is sitting on top of the top because it never completes the last step of lowering it and latching.

Does anyone know how to reset/resync the computer so the timimg will be correct again? I had a BMW where you could just open the top completely and put everything where it should be, then reset the computer and all the motors would be back in sync again. Is there such a procedure for Volvos?

First you can open the an close the trunk with the key. I gut tells me that you have something misaligned. You can try disconnecting the battery for 24 hrs to reset but if that does not work you will need to take it to a shop that can reset.
