thinking of buying 760 gle v6 1988, ABS light on permanently, any advice, as will need to get through MOT after purchase.

Most likely the ABS module is bad. I know there are places (BBA Remanufacturing) where you can get them fixed for 850's, S60's etc. I'm assuming that you can have the same done for yours.

could just be the transient surge protector fuse that has gone, its a ten amp (red) fuse. or if you take the plastic cover off the abs, there is a fuse an a relay in there. I am not to sure about the abs having to be working as long as the brake work as there are loads of cars without abs ... though one might think if its on the car it has to work. where abouts in the uk are you? i know a few good volvo places.
