hi there i have a 1994 850 t5 an the little engine light came on 1 day but car is running fine except i am using alot of fuel way more then it should like twice more an was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction ive checked codes and got 232 yesterday and found that means maf sensor havent checked it yet and this morning i got 231 but hvnt found what that means if anyone could give me any ionfo that would be greatly apreciated as fuels is going throught the roof oh and i think its the lambda light on rather then engine 1

either way, get the maf checked. also, do a general search on the 850 forum, i think a one of the moderators listed the codes and what they meant.

cheers will do that on monday as im a auto sparky we just dont have a computer to plug in a stuff at our workshop so ill just have to pull out the ohm meter lol an do it that way but if anyone has had this trouble any advice would be great dont wanna spend heaps of $$$ and not get anywhere

do a search on how to retrieve the codes. the box is under the hood, next to the canister where you place the windshield washer fluid.

The codes are in the manual as well, atleast in my chiltons one they are.

The MAF sensor can be cleaned. Dont just replace them altogether. Unless, If the damage is internal.
