The 960 has 115k on the clock, we have a fresh Mass Air meter, new fuel pumps, new filter, screen (Napa fuel handling parts), bosch super plugs with 2k on them, and it sputters and occasionally dies at long redlights. It does not have a superb start, as it sputters to life (1.5 sec duration), runs for between 3 and ten seconds, then starts to stumble bad(undriveably bad) for about 5 seconds, then just does not run smooth for about 10 seconds as we are backing down the driveway, then when you get it past 1500 rpm, it smooths out.
The check engine light is on, and I do not know how to check the codes.
Any one have advice and or a code list and code reading instructions?

No, OBDII vehicles are 95 or 96 and later.

So you must have the old OBD, that one does not need a scanner, Look at the start of the page in the link I have written.
