Hello,

I Searched zo manny forums, but i never found the way to change the interior Air filter for a Volvo V50 2.0TD out 2004/2005.

After some stuggeling... here it is....

The air filter is located behind the radio, and you can replace it from the drivers side.

First you have to remove the cover under the stearing wheel. This is done by removing the 3 schrews, 2 located at the bottom and 1 located at the left top, located just under the light switch.
Then you can click out the cover on the left site, the cover where the air is regulated into the door. After that you have to click out the cover just behind the middle console. It is not screwed. Then you can remove the big cover. Watch out. because you have to remove the licht cable and the temperatur sensor.

After removing the covers. you have to remove the Trottle padle. It is attached by 3 nuts. Then on the right beside the trottle attachment, there is a black cover with one or more schews.(in my car it was 1 screw)

After you removed this cover you can replace the filter.

good luck!!!

Jeroen

Thanks Jeroen. Your instructions were great. The only problem I had was the disconnect of the wire harness for the throttle pedal. After 3 years and 90,000 miles our filter was junk. I could tell immediate results in the amout of air that flowed through the vents. Our 2005 V50 T5 had 3 screws holding the little panel that holds the filter in place. Yes it was a pain but so is changing the oil filter. I am glad I did it. BTW I paid about $13.00 USD from Rockauto.com for a basic Wix filter. I know our Volvo dealer wanted over $100 to do the job.
