Hello to all it has been a while.

I have a 1992 Volvo 240 with 41,000 original miles that I bought locally. I first had a problem with the fuel system and a no start that you fellow members helped me to resolve quickly and I am forever thankful. Now I have another demon striking this car that I am at my wits end with.

The vehicle has no spark.

Before chasing voltage and power, I did the basics:

-Replaced Crank Sensor
-Replaced power stage (ignition module)
-Replace coil
-Replace every fuse on panel (needed it anyway)
-Cap and rotor
-Cleaned a few grounds in the engine compartment

After all this, the engine still does not have spark. I then started checking for power at key points. I found the car to have no power going to the crank sensor, and barely any power going to the coil (logic probe barely lit up, had to look close). The battery is fully charged, and the vehicle cranks as it should.

I was thinking a bad computer but was not sure if that could be the cause of the power issue. What I have already done was reading through the posts of similar problems described on this site. I need some guidance with this and any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Oh yeah one last thing. Fuel is fine and pump primes with key on and has fuel pressure while cranking. Shoots across the driveway.

You might want to use a volt meter.

My guess is the ignition switch is bad or some short/defective component is dropping your voltage. I would trace the circuit with the meter (or unplug "stuff" to see if the voltage jumps up).

+12v comes from the battery, goes through the junction block on the fender, and arrives at the ignition switch as the red wire. It leaves as the blue wire to the coil, power stage #4, and ECU #6.

I have 13 volts going back to the ignition switch on red wire, and nothing at the coil. The wire on the positive terminal on coil is white with blue stripe and followed it back as far as midway through harness in the engine bay.

Is the wire that comes out of the ignition switch blue or white with blue stripe? I do not see a solid blue wire. Sorry for all of the questions but I do not have a schematic to reference.

the anti-theft system (if fitted) is de-activated, isn't it? As said, old worn-out ign switches aren't impossible, esp. if they've had a large number of keys on them, weighing the lock down. Low mileage may be much short haul, with its higher key and starter/startup wear. Be suspicious and expect the worst, then you might occasionally be pleasantly surprised/comforted to find thing better, instead of forever frustrated by whatever's worse. Cars are always worse, IME, and more expensive than you expected/have.
