Hey every1

Just a un-quick querie

My volvo 440 speedo needle keeps shaking up and down like a rabbit so i never know if im doin 28 or 34!!! what cures are there for this is it just a cable needs tighting or is it serious can anyone tell me what to do or any internet guides people know off.

secondly The fuel gauge takes 2 mins to show me how much fuel i have so once again any help would be very gratefully apprectaited

first off the fuel guage should take a few minutes to read the full amount, thats the dampenig they put on it to stop false readings when cornering and going up and down hills.
as for the speedo, that depends, if you have a cable driven speedo its a sign the drive cable could be worn and about to break, or it could be the friction drive in the speedo itself, if its the first a new speedo cable will cure it.
if you have an electronic speedo, then I am not too sure what it could be - all my experience is with the cable type.

Yh the speedo is deffo a Cabel drivrn one as its analouge and its a p reg motor so is my best bet to ring up the volvo people i bought it off or is it something i can do by my self?

If you know a bit about cars its a fairly easy job, fiddly and a difficult reach up under the dash at the speedo end, but east to do.
