Hello All

Need some advice please.

I've noticed a small oil leak on my 99 Phase 1 Volvo V40 2.0T SE, so i had underneath steam cleaned so i could get a good look at it. When i got it up on some ramps i can see it's definately coming from a pipe that feeds into the back of the sump(about halfway up the sump). The leak is coming from where this pipe connects into the sump and just wondered firstly what this pipe is and secondly what's the best plan of action to remedy this problem.

Many Thanks :)

Apologies for cross post but it is a V40/S40 engine problem :57:

sounds like your turbo oil return pipe seal is leaking. The seal between this pipe and the sump is prone to splitting and will require a new one.

Thanks for the reply mate, i've just got a price for the seal and it costs peanuts, i think the expense is gonna depend on how difficult it is to fit, labour costs etc.

Thanks again :)

Just to follow up on this, it was the the Turbo Oil Return Pipe Seal, just a little washer which cost £1 from the main dealer. Was too tricky a job for me so a local garage replaced it, cost me £50 in labour but i'll soon make that back on the oil i'll save.
Thanks for the replies :)
