you can turn up the boost pressure with a boost controller, but dont go ridiculous, anything below 14psi is ok on standard pump gas ... bout 95/97 octane here in uk.

a new intercooler will help, the volvo one is quite efficient but you loose about 1-2 psi of boost through it atthe throttle side.

An Induction kit (or like me, dont run an air filter - be warned, turbos DO NOT like stones) with a cold air feed from the front of the car.

a new free flowing exhaust from jetex, or a custom built will give for a better response on the turbo, if you want to spend the extra and get less of lag then get a custom turbo exhaust manifold from the head made too.

about the bov ... you do not gain any power from this at all, its just releasing air. actually i find having a small bov, such as a bailey dv26i works quite well with 12psi of boost on my 940 2.0t, as it lets enough air out to let the turbo free wheel and not loose speed because of back pressure, but it also closes quicker so when you put your foot down on the gas again you still have pressure.

by all means get one for the sound! make sure you get a cbv bypass plate that fits to your turbo otherwise it wont work.

Matt
