Hello, I'm hoping someone out there might have experience with this problem. I'm in the middle of trying to replace the heater coil in my daughter's 1992 240 series. Man! What a chore! I'm stuck at this point: I've removed the clips from the blower fans, but they still wont come off the shaft. ?Any tips? Thank you,

Sounds like the motor shaft may be rusted and binding in the plastic fan hubs.

If you wedge the fan out as far as you can (using pieces of wood or whatever you can get between the blades and the housing) you might be able to hammer the shaft though bit by bit using a drift or punch.

Also try WD40 and maybe a bit of heat - but not enough to warp the plastic.

You may also be able to twist the impellers relative to each other to get one of them loose - I think the motor shaft ends are 'D' shaped so they wont twist far without cracking the hub.

Worst case is you have to cut the impellers off the shaft - couldn't be that difficult - and get some more from a wrecker.
