Hi im new to the forums and i was wondering if anyone could help with my problem when i start my S40 T4 i the mornings there is a tapping sound when i rev the engine its not loud or anything but its getting me slightly worried can anyone help many thanx :liebe011:

does it continue as it warms up? does it rise with the revs? if so, check to make sure that you have enough oil, if it is low, add oil and see where you are losing it from.

nah i goes away when it warms up and it doesnt drink the oil so im not losing any any other info u need ps its when i rev it more as well :liebe011:

It sounds like its probably an exhaust leak I have the same exact problem. I read somewhere that the exhaust manifold bolts tend to loosen up over time. Mine will tick back by the manifold turbo area but as soon as the manifold gets hot, 30 seconds or so, it gets totally quiet again.

I am not too concerned about it unless it gets worse.
