Hi all, I have had my Volvo 440 1.8 si for about a year. The problem is that the battery will discharge overnight and within 20 minutes or so of me parking up. The battery is new as is the starter and alternator. I have run an amp tester across the negative trminal of the battery and an earth. The tester is showing a 4.5 amp current flow. I have tested the circuits as far as pulling the fuses one by one but the draw is not coming from a component served by the fuse box. Is this a common problem? In any case any ideas on tracing this would be apreciated.
Sorry I should have mentioned, I did notice that when the battery went flat one night the alternator was warm. The rest of the engine bay was considerably cooler.
