I'm trying to clear codes on my 94 855 and this is what I've tried:

1. gas, high octance
2. fuel filter
3. tune up - plugs, wires, rotor, cap
4. new knock sensors, updated kit
5. swapped in another ECU and no change

any ideas on what next?? i am getting 433 and 143 sometimes.

thanks to all takers....

Matt,

I dont know if this can help, but have you tried changing the engine oil?

no, but its been 3000 mi since the last time. is there a certain type of oil I should use to improve my chances? just curious, why do you think that might help??

interestingly, before the new knock sensors, i was mostly getting a code for the rear one, and now I am only gettting a code for the front one (143).

thanks for the idea,
matt

This is probably where i am stuck. A friend had the same errors, and it disappeared after he changed his oil.

Maybe the oil change was past-time, i am not sure. What kind of oil did he change into, i am also not sure. Will ask him soon on this.
