I went to a franchise brake shop to get an estimate on turning the rotors and replacing the pads on the rear wheels. I was told that the on the XC90 AWD the rotors had to be replaced because they couldn't be turned. He told me this without examining the car. Is he right?

:blush: Think I'd call the local Volvo Dealer and ask them the question..I know there is a federal standard on disk thickness and if they can be turned w/o exceeding the standard then I'd say he is wrong...Also Volvo may have a policy (either localily or nationwide) on brakes.....Sorry, not much help to you...
