I need to replace the thermostat in my 99 T6, where is the thermostat? Also, is there a radiator cap of sorts that controls pressure release into the reservoir? That also needs replacement. Where might I find that?

The thermostat is located behind the timing belt cover. Removal involves partial or full removal (depnending on how u want to do it) of the valve cover center cover which also covers the top of the timing belt, removal of the return hose connection to the power steering resevoir (so u can lift and move to the side the resevoir to the side), and removal of the center bolt on the timing cover (recessed location on the front of the cover. There is a thermostat cover that you will find once the timing belt center cover is remvoved. I would suggest that you not only get the thermostat rubber ring from the dealer but also the metal plate / gasket combo for the thermostat cover.
