Hi everyone,

I have a 98 V70 T5 that has a strange problem !

It seems to have a form of vapor or mist coming from the air vents at times, this could be at any time but seems to happen more perhaps when the air con is first turned on.

It doesn't do this all the time, and the air con works very well indeed, so I have ruled out the fact that it could be refrigerant leaking for the time being.

It's obviously not smoke as doesn't smell of anything and the car is not ablaze  , so does anyone have any idea what it might be, or has this happened to you ?

Thanks.

humidity. water vapor, etc. nothing to worry about, unless you light a cig and flames shoot out. but just kidding, it's nothing to worry about, just excess moisture.

For GreekMason- I have a 98 V70 that does the same thing; mist or vapor
from dash vents while AC is on. It has no smell and doesn't feel wet.
If it's just excess moisture, I won't worry.
I found a refrigerant leak is happening somewhere and put in a can of
tracer/ refrigerant. No leaks are visible- is the accumulator can the most
likely culprit?

probably, but a dedicated a/c mech will be able to tell you better. but as to the mist, 99.99999% of the time it's just water vapor. i've never heard of it being anything but.
