Sharing shop space with a body/paint guy is a dangerous thing. I got this wild hair for some suicide doors, and he's not exactly the voice of reason. I don't imagine the Volvo crowd is into such nonsense, but just in case....anybody seen/done it? I'm thinking 'bout it on an 855, rear doors.

hey cool, just what i need, more ideas. i've been toying with the idea of a cowl induction hood from a posting by piecemeal. also toying with the idea of a dual exhaust. did one on my other 850 that i had sold, and am realizing that i could have down it better with bigger pipes. hmmmmmmmmmm..............

Yea, sorry. There was vodka involved. At the time, I couldn't be bothered with too many words.

Seriously, I'm very interested in this. The biggest problem I think I'll have to overcome is the lack of area between the top of the wheel well and the bottom of the glass in the rear quarter panel. On the sites I've been looking at, the general concensus is that you should have at least 12 inches between the hinges. Not possible on this car. That leaves only one option: one really large, custom fabricated hinge.

A dual hinge setup doesn't really concern me too much. I saw one site where the guy used a set of Jeep Wagoneer hinges (http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42615). It looks fairly easy actually. Constructing a custom made hinge though is adding a lot to the project.

In due time. Whats that saying about a fool and his money being parted?

not sure about the link, but try fatman.com for the suicide hinges. thought of doing that to my lincoln and to the hi-boy. i've also seen one hinge, but that was done on a vw dune buggy and the doors weigh next to nothing on those babies.
