I got into my car this afternoon, put the key in the ignition, got the seat belt buzz for half a second then nothing. No radio, lights, windows, fuel pump buzz, no turnover. Battery tests ok. I have replaced the #1 fuse. Is there another relay or fuse in the engine compartment I am missing? Any and all help appreciated.

91 940 GLE 4 Cylinder automatic

Hi!I have a 1991 940 GLE
I once had a siilar though not identical problem.I put the key in and turned it and just got absolute total silence, nothing at all. No red lights on the dash, no sounds, nothing.Called roadside assistance and after checking battery and the usual obvious things, couldn't find the problem right there but got me started by feeding power directly from the battery to the starter.Got home, parked and went all quiet as before. Got a mobile mechanic who spent 4 hours fiddling everywhere including taking out the immobilizer, then finally solved the problem in 5 minutes with a small piece of wire.The inhibitor switch on the automatic gearstick had failed and it cuts out all power to the ignition so before you do too many things do have that checked out.
