Hi all,

I have a 2003 D5 S V70 with a unusual problem. It has blown out a core plug in the casing and has blown the lower rubber turbo intake hose.

When i take the oil filler cap off it smokes like crazy and makes a popping sound. Smoke also comes out of the dip stick when i remove this.

I have taken the two hose's off the top of the Oil Breather box and pressure comes out of the port that goes to the turbo hose. everything appears to be coke free and i have check passage through the oil breather hoses and all seems fine. I am frightened that if i do not find the source of the blockage i will have another engine out job and be replacing the rear main crank seal next.

Has anyone come across anything similiar.

Engine has 154,000 motorway miles on it.

Sounds like excessive blow-by. Have you checked the compression?
