i have a little problem with my manual 850 GLT:

sometimes when i push in the clutch or throw it in to neutral the RPMs seem to take a while to come down, and i know this is affecting my gas mileage. is there something that might need some cleaning, like my throttle body? i was thinking it might just be sticking a little bit but i have no idea...

thanks!

I hear this is a common characteristic of a manual volvo. I don't think its something to be alarmed about.

It can also happen to auto gearboxes.
I did a lot of things at once, so i cant really pinpoint what exactly made it better. But my bet is the 3 or 4 litre ATF draining makes for the biggest benefit accorded.

yea i had a check engine light and a slightly rough idle as well, and thats all fixed now. it must of had to do with getting a big hole in my exhaust right by the cat and then getting a new exhaust system...
