My 1997 960wagon has 90K miles and the OE coolant, recently it got hot on a long hill. When do I change the antifreeze, and with what? Is the Volvo brand better than any other? The manual doesn't say anything so I'm concerned since i have a long hot summer ahead. Thanks everyone.

In my manual the coolant change is 20,000 miles or 2 years. The Volvo coolant is not that expensive. You could try a cheaper after market coolant but there will always be voices in your head saying bad things will happen to your engine for not using the proper Volvo coolant. (in my head i hear them voices,but,i might not be normal :haha: )
