Hi guys i had an issue with the hand brake on the car..it is an automatic so i'm not that worried if i don't have it, but it is a good feature to have.
I brought it to a garage that i go to, they do good work.
anywho i brought it in to have it checked out, there was some rubbing going on when i would turn the back driver wheel by hand(tire lifted). and the pass. side was making some noise too. so they told me that they had to order some new rotors and a kit for the hand brake (springs, pads..ect) in the end it costed about 349.00 cdn. i took the car, and not that far after i left the garage i went to check the hand brake and it didn't work..i was a little pissed at this point, i made my way back to the garage to go speak to them and they where closed. is there some adjustment that has to be made for the hand brake to work? any advice would help..thanks

The adjustment mechanism is accessible via the armrest casing.

But something tells me that you need to get THEM to fix it up for you, cos they only did halfway jobs...

This brings up a question for me. Hehe always always! My hand brake pulls up normal, but does not engage. When you let it down then pull it up again it pulls up too easy probably takes less than 1lb of pressure to pull up after I drive a few miles it tightens up again. WHat could cause this? What is the fix?

I think your cable is stuck. You can get it lubricated, but that's only a temp fix.

The BEST i can think of. But please, before you change it, look thoroughly to see if there truly is anything that got into the way to cause the cable from getting stuck in the first place.

Cheers.

I dont really want to do it myself. This would be something for the dad or mech. Will do though. Know of a place to get cheap tools? General tools, jack, ramps, etc.
