Hi All.

Picked up my used 2004 V50 yesterday - a 2.0 D SE. Very pleased with it until on the way home at speeds over 40/50 mph theres a buzzing/humming/vibration type noise from the rar of the car.

Seems to be speed related rather than engine speed as it was in all gears etc.

Could it be exhaust blowing or wheel bearings? its got a FSH and has 73000 miles under its belt.

Stressed that ive bought a lemon :o(

any ideas?

Me again. I'm pretty sure its the wheel bearing now. Although the supplier doesent agree an are replacing rar disks, pads and tyres for free! I think this will not cure the problem though!

Has anyone else had problems with the bearings failing? This site suggests it common on the 2.0D. Ive been quoted £200 for each dide by local garade as the part comes as a whole hub assembly!
