I read some other threads with similiar problems, but not exactly like mine. I am hoping someone can clear this up for me. I have the left turn signal light in the dash staying on at all times. Same with the turn signal in the rear drivers side taillight. Neither the right or left signals flash when using the turn lever. The hazard lights will not work if the car is running, but when turned off, they will flash normally. The red light on the hazard also illuminates when the turn signal is used. The car is a 1998 S90.

Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I am a newbie with our V90, but I have heard and read of many cases of bad or "dirty" ground connections in other Volvo's. These can cause some very baffling situations. I would begin by finding a wiring diagram and checking ground connections for each light and other related components. Maybe even try replacing bulbs one at a time. When in school we had a (at that time) late model Ford that would not shut off if the parking lights were on. The engine would continue to run with the key turned off and in your pocket until the lights were turned off! A bulb with an internally grounded filament was the culprit.....
Anyway "grounds" was the first thing I thought of after reading your post.

Replace the relay. It's basically the hazard switch! Pull it out, go on ebay and buy another, hook it up and the turn signals and hazards should work perfectly.
Worked for me!

I have a v90 and my left turn signal stays on when my headlights are on, but when they are off, i do not have this problem.
