My neighbor has just bought a 2004 s40 with front end damaged and he found a 2005 v50 with roof damage.

He wants to know if the front ends are the same.

He has to bid on the parts car without being able to see it in person hence my question.

Jfman the S40 was completely redesigned and released about mid 2004 with the V50 coming later. The front ends are interchangeable. However the V50 is completely different to the older S40 that was replaced in mid 2004 so your neighbour should check he has the newer S40 before putting in a bid for the V50 with the modified roofline.

He just needs the hood, bumper healights and fenders from the v50... does the roofline matter to him?
