Hey,

I test drove a 850 today, it was fun!! but, I noticed a few things..

one of them was the engine was a bit loud, I put my ear down by the belt and thats where I think where it is.. could this be the engine belt/pulley?

Also, when I turn the car on, and have to shift to R or D, I have to press a button so the shifter would move..it's right on the corner of the center console where the shifter is..what is it?

Pretty much, thats the questions I have, haha sorry I phrased them so wrong I didn't know how to explain them easily.

Also, how whats a good company for some brake pads? I kinda want the highest quality/OEM because you know their brakes..

And, how much would it be in parts for the pads/belt/pulleys? And what should I do ASAP when I get the car? I'm having a mechanic check out the car tomorrow, but I'd love to get a list, heh!

Thanks guys!

If you dont know when was the last time the belts were changed, you should take this opportunity to change them. While you're there, check to see if your timing-belt tensioner needs changing as well.

Its called the Shift-Park Microswitch. That's normal for the year model. It has a tendency to get stuck, though.

I heard PBR is a good brand.

You can get prices from the online stores like fcpgroton.com, volvopartsonline, etc...

Cheers.

Get EBC green pads, they are top notch! They are road and track friendly.

Have not tried EBC greenstuff, but heard lots of great things about it. Xpiece's statement above drove the point in more. Thinking of getting a pair now, changing to dot 5.1 fluids and see how the brakes perform.

Am definitely going to give them ebc greenstuff pads a try when my next brake pad change is due. Let me just wear out my current pads now.

Watch out for cars from the rear-end, when you execute them nasty emergency brakes, bro.
