Hello everyone,

Does anyone know how to replace a light in a '98 S70 T5 radio ?

Half of the radio is now dark.

I spoke to a mechanic and he stated to buy a new one. It would be easier.

This seemed alittle extreme.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Brendan

there is a post in the audio/video section about a member who changed her bulbs in her head unit. don't remember what model volvo she had, but if i remember correctly, a couple of others tried it also. i'd give a search first. as long as the unit works, don't dump it. slow and easy when doing the head unit. good luck and post us about your progress.

I bought a diffrent head unit for my v70, one that had a cd player, since mine was stock cassette off ebay. The one I bought had half the bulbs burnt and so did my stock one. I used the ones from my stock and put them into the new one. I do not know where to buy the lights, because I haven't put any research into it, sorry, but all they are is little blue LED's, and to replace them is SUPER EASY!!! Just find the ones that don't work and twist them out. Piece of cake! I did the whole lot of them, both head units, break down and rebuild in about 15 minutes.
Oh if you happen to find a place that sells the light would you please post it? THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!!
