So... I put in an order for a brand new V50 1.6D (MY09) with loads of funky extras...
This is my first new car. My first Volvo. and I can't wait. Following the status on Volvo's pages the V50 has now been finally put into their system. Expected delivery is week 28. Since it's now week 24 and they haven't even started building it I'm getting worried that they won't make it in time. Does anyone know how long the production time is once they start on the build process? |

Kmoon, I ordered my new optioned V50 in September 2006, the order went to the factory in Belgium, and I picked it up from the dealer in Australia in January 2007, much quicker than I was expecting. I do not know if the orders for new cars have changed since then with different production times but at least your car does not have to be shipped halfway around the planet!

Only me again. I did not think the month of my order sounded quite right so on checking my movements in 2006 it seems I ordered my car in July & not Sepember, making it 6 months from pen on paper to keys in my hand.

Last week I submitted an order for a new V50 with extras. Delivery is to be mid-September at earliest as I want new Powershift gearbox. We'll see.

Anything I should know? For instance... Does the Diesel engine require some mileage before it is running optimally? |
