I am leaking fluid from the boot, passenger side on my Rack-and-pinion. The boot is split open. Is the rack in a bath of fluid? Is it ok if i just replace the boot, or do i need to have the rack serviced?

What kind of lube? The stuff leaking out looks red.
any way to tell what setup i have without crawling under the car. The sitcker on the door post is gone.

red==ATF, use a light grease, shouldn't cause major trouble mixing with ATF.

How can I tell what setup I have. The tags do not read like the book says. I am thinking its a Cam type. I just want to make sure so that i can get the right boots.
