I have two questions I'm seeking answers to.

(1)
From reading posts on various Volvo forums I've got the distinct impression there are two versions of the Haynes manual i.e. an American version and a U.K version.

If this is correct - what are the main differences between the versions?

More specifically, I believe the section in the U.S.A. version dealing with A/C contains more information than the U.K edition - is this true?

(2)
Also I've read somewhere that Volvo direct if the A/C is broken into - a new receiver/dryer must be fitted and preferably a new valve also.

I read it as a directive, not a recommendation.

Since then, I've looked everywhere trying to find this information once again - but I just cannot find it.

Has anyone else ever read this directive or better still - advise me where I can find it?

Thanks in anticipation.

I would go with Chiltons manual if I were you. I dont know the answer to your question. My AC doesnt work, I wish it did, but I dont know how to fix it, I bet its expensive.

Dont know for sure. But i am not surprised if they are different, cos the cars sold in these 2 countries cater for the domestic needs and specifications that have been instructed.

Hmmm... If you mean "broken into" as something major like changing the evaporator and things like that, then its possible. Other than that, i've replaced the metal hoses here and there with just a recharging of the freons.

If its not broken, i prefer not to change it.
