I read a post here a couple days ago about the same thing. If I recall correctly, the person asking about it said that the Volvo dealership said that initially it will only play through the headphones, but that you can buy a device (or something, that wasnt real cheap) to make it play through the speakers instead.

However that was with a different model Volvo I think, so the methods of doing this might be different.

Mostly though, it seems Volvo designed it so that they would only play through headphones.

I suppose what it really comes down to is how much you are willing to spend to get it the way you want.

im just going to take a guess and say that this isnt an in dash dvd player and that its flip down one right? cause i know that the in dash ones u wire to the speakers but for the flip down ones its a little more complicated but i do think that it can be done with money and patience

Paging DR blakbyrd!!!!!!! yea, to some that may be simple, but you do need to transfer sound, that may need to be amplified.
