i just bought a 2008 XC90 yesturday. the salesman told me that i could play a DVD without the headphones(so that everyone in that car can hear the movie), and pointed to the speakers on the sides of the seats Does anyone know how i can do that?

I read a post here a couple days ago about the same thing. If I recall correctly, the person asking about it said that the Volvo dealership said that initially it will only play through the headphones, but that you can buy a device (or something, that wasnt real cheap) to make it play through the speakers instead.

However that was with a different model Volvo I think, so the methods of doing this might be different.

Mostly though, it seems Volvo designed it so that they would only play through headphones.

I suppose what it really comes down to is how much you are willing to spend to get it the way you want.

im just going to take a guess and say that this isnt an in dash dvd player and that its flip down one right? cause i know that the in dash ones u wire to the speakers but for the flip down ones its a little more complicated but i do think that it can be done with money and patience
