Vibration and wobble in front end seems to be coming from the passenger side of car. What should I be looking for? Planning to replace both front tires soon due to wear on outside edges. :liebe011:

I second that. Go for a full alignment.

Let's hope it hasnt escalated to anything more expensive.

I dont think that part being bad would make your car wobble like that if it hasnt been that way long, as this happened to me before there was no change in driving. I fixed a front end passenger side wobble today actually when I got new tires it went away but you could only feel it at 50-65 mph. As far as being careful, just make sure its put on right and synthetic grease lasts longer.

The boot must have been torn for quite some time, for it to have an effect on the joints. Unless of course, something HAS damaged the joints.

Grease on the inside of the wheels means that the drivshaft covers are torn. To replace the cover, you may need to take out the driveshaft. There are special tools for this. Though, it is possible to take it out without the tools. Be creative, friend!

Wobbles means alignments of your wheels are off, or your alloy wheels are bent. Try doing alignment and balancing, preferrably on wheel balancing and chck if there are any bents (out of shape) on your alloys.

I've faced these problems and its no biggie. Normal wear and tear.

Good luck.

:P

One way to tell if it is the rims, go get them balanced, that would be like 10 bucks! If the tires are wearing on one edge more than the other you need camber fixed. I dunno how much it is to fix but I need it especially since I just got a brand new set of BRIDGESTONE POTENZAS!

I fixed the wobble with new tires, balancing and front end alignment. Since I already have new CV joints/shafts for both sides in house now I will be replacing those next week... look at it as routine maintenance.

Awesome glad you have it fixed. I also want to add for someone who might come along to read this. There are zip on cv boots available if you dont have the cash or know how to get all those parts off to replace it. Just rip the old one off and zip the new one on. Ive never used them but my father has.

Yes, yes, i've heard about this, but how is it now?

Is it still working?

I mean are the zips holding in the grease well? ... and holding up the rubber?

Please give feedback. I came across something like this before, and my first thought was, OK, if it was for a slow-rider, like my 18-year old carburettor, naturally-aspired Honda, it probably would work, but definitely not on the T5.

He drives a honda civic 95 model as far as I know it is still good he mentioned it was ok a while back and hes driven probably about 10k miles on it. As far as putting one or considering one for the T5... HOW DARE YOU!

I know it can be OK for a temporary fix. But at high speeds, i figure the imbalance caused by the rotation would later tear the thing up faster than i can say "I know i should have put this thing on for high speed running..."

We went down south for a day trip one day with the family and took separate cars. We blasted 100 mph for a solid 45 minutes and then 85 for about 2 hours...
