Hello everyone,
First wanted to say hello. I'm a former datsun/toyota guy but my wife needed a wagon so Volvo it was. I have to say I formerly didn't give too much thought to Volvos, but after driving one I have to say I really like them.
My wife bought a 740 GLE wagon with 4 speed manual w/overdrive with 144k for $600. Unfortunately the car hasn't seen much TLC in the last couple years so it needs a little work.
The car has a rough idle ( but doesn't die) cold and warm. Usually bounces between 500-900rpm. Also the check engine light came on as well. Apparently the local auto parts store isn't able to read the light so I had to take it to a volvo specialist who charged me $40!
Anyways this is what it said: Codes set LH 2.4 232 LTFT too lean or rich at CTP, EZ 116K 241 EGR system, flow too low.
I'm not really sure what the codes are actually saying ( my wife took the car in) but my guess is vacuum leak causing car to run too lean and making for a rough idle. But what the heck is a CTP?
I'm hoping ( and betting) someone here has had this issue before and can give pointers on where to start looking for vacuum leaks ( if I'm right).
Thanks in advance and happy motoring!
Nate
