so, I have been looking for a while and well I bought one today.

I was going back and forth between the Merk 300Diesel and a 240Diesel but the 240D was being very hard to find and the 300D was being asked alot for.

So, I found a 1991 240 with 183k miles. Its a Cali car, so virtually no rust and seems to of been well serviced from day 1. Also, from 2005 through 2007, it went on 5 cross country trips from CT to Cali back and forth without an issue. So, I think thats a good sign.

The only 2 issues at hand are a very slight slight slight power steering fluid leak, and the antena is broken.
Other then those 2 things, everything seems to work 100%. So, other then the paint not being the greatest but not bad and a small ding on a rear quater panel and another one on the trunk lid its seems great and I am very happy with it.

So, about the power steering leak. Is that something that I should just keep tabs on for the time being until it gets worse, or replace it?
Can it be a hose leak? Or a tank leak? or is it the actually pump?

As for the antena, I know I could find one on ebay I am sure, anywhere else that might have one for a good price?

this is a pic of the car in the sellers drive way.

The most common power steering fluid leaks are from a leaking hose or the steering rack For the antenna you can look on this site http://www.eeuroparts.com/searchresults.as...d=1566&cat=1002 or go to a junk yard and get a used one.

If the power steering leak is small and from a seal, you might have success with STP's power steering fluid that has a leak stopping additive. It worked with my one.

DO watch you fluid levels, all of them, very closely for a week, then, if they're still ok, make it fortnightly, then monthly. Keep watching anything that is going down, and monthly check all fluids, tyre pressures, battery acid level & waters. Always use coolant, 50% concentration, and make sure the cooling system holds pressure, or you'll be looking for a motor. Check your fluid drive clutch on the fan. It should provide strong draught at idle, but over-ride freely when the motor is stopped. Welcome to the 'club'.

one thing about the antenna, it seems the antenna is just broken. is there any way to find out if the antenna motor still works? I dont hear any clicking when the radio is turned on. then again, there is a aftermarket stereo installed and not a stock one.

now I know the design is different, but over all I think it would work fine. so, would this one off of ebay work?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...0243598365&rd=1

the price is considerably cheaper, then agian it is anot a genuine volvo part.
