My Daughter's '94 850 Turbo Wagon's heat and AC quit working a few months ago and with temps in the 90's here in NC I finally had pity on her. The short story is that compressor works fine but no blower. Self diagnostics resulted in code 411 which is "shorted or seized blower motor". Never quick to trust any car's diagnostic system, I unplugged the blower motor power cable and connected to 12VDC power source. Motor blows just fine. So, problem has to be the "ECC Control Module" ($300 box with the temperature control knobs on it), maybe just the $30 card in the box, or somewhere else in the electrical system (between the battery and the motor as my wise guy 15 yr old son put it). Anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem? Thanks!

You can check the fuse(s) for the ECC and it could also be the resistor pack.

I checked fuses, but not resistor pack. Can you describe where it is located?
Under dash on blower motor housing maybe? Thanks!

I think theres a blower fan relay to but I don't know where it is.

Awesome, thanks! I will look for it. Not sure how to check it but is more likely the problem than the control unit so I will probably just replace it and see.

Seems like there is a relay for everything in these Volvos. I have had problems with other relays before with a 240 and a 760 as well as a '95 850 I used to have.
I will let you know what I find out.
