I just put my '95 850 into a ditch and pretty much the whole front end is crushed (engine is fine though). Im definitely going to be buying a new (to me) 850...hopefully this one is going to have a turbo..Im wondering how hard it is (in case i ever have to) put the enginge from the old 850 into the new one. Thanks for any input!

From your post it sounds like the ditched one wasn't a turbo. If this is the case it would be prohibitively expensive to convert a NA to a turbo. If you wanted to save the engine for the block, etc. then you could but I wouldn't go the conversion route.

+1

Converting an NA into a Turbo is a royal PITA. Also can be very expensive.

I have a friend who transplanted his 850SE with an R engine in.
Another one was an 850GLT and put in a T5 engine.
And another one from a GLT into a T5.

All are sedan.

What i am sure is that you should be wary of the costs that's involved. Additionally, if yours is a present OBD1 system, you'll have more luck to have e trouble-free car with an OBD1-system turbo. And the OBD2 to an OBD2.

Cheers.
