i'm at the end of my patience with my 440.
Went out yesterday and took off the idle control valve and cleaned it,Disconnected all engine sensors and cleaned all the contacts and plugs,Checked and cleaned the spark plugs,Throttle body and put it all back together and hurrah my baby was back to her old self (well wouldn't idle below 2000 revs for first ten minutes) But at least she was sounding healthy again. so i took her out for a 60 mile run around and she behaved perfectly even stopped and started a few times,I thought she was fixed so let the missus take her to the shops and when she came out to go home car wouldn't start back to doin its usual s**t backfiring through exhaust and turning over but refusing to start. Went up this morning jumped in and she started first turn and was running great. anyone out there have any suggestions??? i'm about ready to torch the f****r. I'm thinking possibly a dodgy sensor / does anyone know how to test the various sensors and if possible could you give me the required info . cheers :thumbsup: |

Hmm - dont let the wife drive it? - nah just kidding, have you checked the ECU connector, corrosion there causes all sorts of bother, mind you these cars dont seem to like short trips anyway. check your fuses are all clean and again with the relays.
most of the sensors have a specific reading / ohms or volts, I will see iif I can dig out the values. Grendel |
