I have these 2 cars (and Volvo 850). 265GLE was eaten by rust and is mechanically worn but it has excellent V6 engine, which was rebuilt recently by previous owner. I used to ride this ca for some 2 years and so I know the engine is great. My 1975 264GL is free of rust and looks like 5 years old, well maintained car. Engine is also very good but I could make this car a rocket by giving it my 265GLE engine and gearbox. I hope somebody can tell if that is possible, if they (265GLE 1980 engine and auto transmission) will fit stright into 1975 264GL without any complicated modifocations...?
