Ok well I have had my fair share of issues including the keys not working and having to be replaced so when i walked out to my car this morning and it wouldnt unlock i thought great another bunk key. however when i unlocked it manually with the medal key i expected the alarm to scream as it usually does if you lock it with the remote and unlock it with the medal key but it didnt. and then when i tried to start the car nothing and i mean NOTHING happened, no sounds, no lights on the dash or interior....nothing.

Anyways i was just wanting to get peoples input, that seems like a Battery issue and not an alternator right? because previously i had had no problems what so ever. I have had an alternator go out on me before in a different car and like all kinds of stuff sarts going on and off and the car starts to jerk back and forth so im HOPING this is just the battery ya?

PLEASE help. i rode my bike to work but need to deal with this as soon as i get home.

P.s. its a 2005 s40 2.4i with 60K miles. i live in Los Angeles in very mild weather.

now the key is stuck in the ignition! WOOHOO this car rocks! dont buy this junk if u havent already made the mistake.

Yes it could very well be the battery from what you are describing but that should be easy to test...use someone elses car battery to help start the car. If you don't hear anything than it's something else more problematic. hope you'll get it to work :thumbsup: .

well i replaced the battery which gave power to the alarm thats for damn sure haha. and so i had power in the car but as soon as i turned the key it went dead and made a slow clicking sound in the engine compartment (not fast like a starter going out).
so im sittin here waiting for the tow truck...
