Hi all,

Just bought a 2003 SE T6 XC90. I have the DVD entertainment packaged installed (with 2 screens for second row passengers).

1- I can not find much info on it. E.g will it play VCD/audio out setup?

2- I did not get the wireless headphones with it. I think DVD only plays audio out through these. Does any one know the specs for the headphones e.g frequecy output? Do I HAVE to go to the dealer to get replacements ? Other options to listening to DVD?

In the meantime I will keep searching the forums for info.

Many thanks.

Edd

I am not certain right off on #2.

#1, may be different in Europe/UK, but I expect in the US a stock DVD Head Unit is not giong to play VCDs, as they are not nearly as popular here. You have to look through specifics here (in the US) to find a player that will play VCDs, and of them most will not play SVCDs.

My Kenwood does play VCDs but not SVCDs. However, VCDs are more popular in Europe, so that might be different for you, but I doubt it.

In many cases the only difference between one that does and one that does not, is simply a code that turns it on or off. There are several places on the internet that sell codes for various players (mostly home stuff), to turn the features on or off (as well as to turn off all region requirements). Generally this can only be done through the remote control also.

I will have to do some looking to find the websites again, but when I do, I will post them. You will need to know the exact model number of your head unit to determine if there is a code for it (and the Volvo number on the face of the unit doesnt count...you need to know the real manufacturer and their model number).

Will your head unit play all types of audio through the headphones, or just the DVD?

With a little inginuity you can rework the system to play everything from the headphones through your speakers instead. However the sound quality in this manner may not be quite as good as through the normal way, but without changing head units, it might be an option. It would require some extra equipment though. Quite often the frequency range output through the headphone output is not as broad as what is output through your normal speaker or pre-outs.

:460: Try these websites for car audio wireless headphones:

http://www.qualitymobilevideo.com/car-wire...d-headsets.aspx

OR (may have to cut & paste link)

http://search.beachaudio.com/search?p=Q&ts...hones&x=13&y=15

If they do not sell outside of the US, call them and perhaps they can recommend a replacement that is sold over in the UK.
