Greetings Everyone!

My son is a student and we got him a 1993 940 a while back which we have worked on and patched together. This has been a fun project and we all like the car, but as with anything mechanical, we have had to clear a few hurdles.

The challenge of the moment is that the leather seats were badly neglected by the previous owner to the point of being cracked and split. We are looking at options. I found a "1991 740 Sedan" set of seats, but am not sure if these are a simple bolt in swap. Are there significant differences in these seats? Would this work?

Would it be a better idea to try recovering the seats after stabilizing padding? How hard is that project?

This car has over 200K on it, but after swapping out everything from the coil to the plugs, it runs great and will likely serve my son through the next few years at college.

I also need to swap the seat belt latch as the plastic inner is worn through. Seems a bit cheap on such an otherwise well made car. Are there some methods of gluing something over this plastic that have worked for others?

Thanks for such a great resource!

Rabby

All of my "plastic inners" are broken & gone. Works fine without them. I'm not sure about replacing them though.

Yeah, I guess ignoring the seat belt latch covers is an option, but the belt end hits it often and it looks bad. I was thinking of replacing or gluing something over it.

I guess nobody knows whether the seats are a simple matter to bolt in?

Anybody? I wanna swap my seats, too. The belt is stuck on my middle shoulder belt in the back seat & I figure I may as well swap them all. How difficult is this?
