hi all,
my 2001 V70 has a buzzing noise coming from behind the a/c / audio area.It starts as you sit in the drivers seat and if you don't start the engine eventually stops after about 5 mins. I am wondering if it is something to do with the motion sensor but it doesn't seem to matter whether I use the 'blipper' or the key to lock the car, as soon as I get back in the buzzing starts. Anyone got an idea what's wrong????

Hi,

The noise is most likely the A/C temperature regulation fan. This is a very small fan (1"in dia) fitted to the back of the A/C control panel. The fan gets covered in dirt and fluff. Sometimes cleaning the front panel slots with the hoover can help. But there have been postings on other forums on how to remove the panel and clean the fan.

WARNING. Disconnect the Battery if you are removing the A/C panel. This panel monitors the airbag circuits and will log the airbag warning light on your dashboard if it is disconnected with the battery still connected.
