I dont really notice any differene, other than the gloss finish on one.

I would think they would unless you mean a newer one from a late model volvo (like the S series).

Oh well, I am not of any real help, sorry :P

I want to replace mine as well, but with one that has the drink holder for the rear as well.

hey piece, yes it will fit. blakbyrd, those are rare. you'll pay a pretty penny for one. better to find just the innards and retrofit it yourself. sometimes they pop up on ebay. good luck hunting.

Tell you what, you can have mine if you buy me one of these new styles from ebay. So Greek, they have the same mounting points just two screws and a third one to hold it from going back too far and the same width?

i'll come down there and rebuild your block for you. you have to greek it. slam it with a hammer, pat in on the back and light up a cig afterwards. yes, it will fit. if anything, the lock part might be on the other side, but they are interchangeable, so no worries. if it doesn't work, i'll fix it for you.

I have the leathered one on mine, and i also have a spare one (the non-leathered) one from the scrapyard. I believe you need to check on the base as per Greek's recommendations.

I cant be sure on this, but it may be the trims associated to the OBD1 versus the OBD2 versions.

The common issue: THe catch-lock at the base assembly (yes the center console itself) always breaks at the edge where the top cover meets the base. With kids opening/closing/pulling/pushing the lid, I can only hope this one lasts longer than the last one.

Mine doesnt have a lock, its magnetic in the center front to hold it shut. Hey greek, are you a mason for real? I fear the masonic order and the shriners and the knights templar etc. might not have the best ideas in mind.
