I have recently started to get what seems to be a burrring noise coming from what would seem to be front right of car. Thought it was just tyre noise but not so sure now. Changes note as car goes faster, stops when at a halt. Also seems to get less noisy when going round a right hand bend. Could it be a wheel bearing and if so how do you check for this. When you change a bearing do you do them in pairs like break pads?

If whell bearing is it recommended to get dealer bearings or are there any recommended parts companies anyone could advise.

Thanks

do you have a haynes manual?.
may not be the wheel bearing as it also could be the cv joint.
the manual tells you how to check both of these for wear.
if you get stuck i will post the correct way for you to do this.
hope this helps

a quick way to check the wheel baring is to jack the wheel in question up then grasp the wheel @ 12 & 6 or top & bottom then try rocking it up & down you'll soon feel any play, also try side to side to feel for excess play that way, whilst it's up run your hands round the tire tread to feel for any defections & visually check the inner tyre tread and wall for bulges ect!! then also inspect all gaters & rubbers on the hub then finally try all joints for excess play! hope that helps
