Here is a chart to help.

http://www.swededemon.com/turbo/turbolist.html

The 1995 had 15g whether R or T5.

The 1996 had the 16T whether R or T5.

See the trend?

Hmmmph. Which is why i stated in many of my other posts that some markets carry different models and parts. THe original T5s in my small country from 1995 and 1996 ALL carry the TD04-15G turbo. Only the Rs and the T5Rs which are very few here have the 16T ones. Nowadays, some of the all-out guys customise it directly to 18.

The injectors didn't start getting changed until later. Why can you find white injectors in a 1998 S70 T5? I am not trying to argue with you guys. I just don't believe in giving out wrong information.

This one i remember very well, cos i asked the authorised distributor personally on this. The person i spoke to was a key figure to Volvos here, and he has owned many models, one of which he has now is an original T5R.

While we were discussing over the injectors on the R and the T5R, i remember he said that even on his T5R, he only have the white ones, and not the blue ones. (We were thinking of bringing in the blue injectors, actually).

Another case of market segmentation?
Probably. It makes more sense to screw up a small-market, Volvo-assembling country, than a big one.
:)

There is a lot of misinforamtion going here. I am here to help, and there is a lot I can offer. I'm sure you are all great guys, but am I supposed to sit here and watch this stuff get passed around like this? I can check VADIS at any time to confirm or deny any of your statements. I can say that different countys had some different parts, however the statements you made are not entirely acurate.

Sorry if some of what you read here sounded a little bit of a 'misinformation', but in all honesty, i believe most if not all here, have the best intentions in mind. Some from experience, some from reading, and some from quotes.

And i note of what you wrote about different countries having different parts and all. That is also stated in VADIS. Also Haynes. Also Chilton. Also the other CDs on auto repair manuals.

Here are more charts explaining what I'm saying about ECU's.
http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-850/Performanc.../p-72-143-2183/

Here is a chart explaining injector sizes:
http://apps.bosch.com.au/products/saa/efi_...orservparts.pdf

Can you provide evidence supporting your caims? I could be wrong. I am human. However my expereince and data support my comments. See the application list for injectors. It only changes for turbo vs. non turbo cars. Only the later models like the S60R had different injectors than their T5 cousins.

The ECUs list on IPDUSA indeed doesnt have the #074. As opposed to the #072 but i have it on my ride now. If you really want me to take a picture of it, i would. Not an issue. And JUST to show you that the 074 is not a hoax; i'll get a few of my friends to line their ECUs together and take a photo of that. Have to give me some time for that, though. Some of them are quite shy. :)
(I hope i can achieve this, afterall Volvos are assembled in this country).

On the injector, i have already commented above. Sure, verbal words are not very credible. I accept that. So maybe I heard wrongly. :haha: No problem.

I have mad respect for you guys becasue you are passionate about Volvo's. Like I said I am here to help.

Hey thanks. But frankly, i really dont know why i like the car so much*. Even after so much trouble, and so much heartaches. I hardly have enough time to visit the forum as much as i want to (i practically have to force myself to write). HEEHE.

But i am sure you have done your research on your parts as well, so for that

Cheers!
And hope to see you LONGER in the forum.
:)

Legend *
= Changed the gearbox, and the seals continue to always giveway prematurely
= Changed the bloody engine block! (Because of a stupid farking original Volvo thermostat that got stuck-closed). And i was there to lend a hand and verify the replacement
= Overheats every once in a farking while. Often with devastating results too
= Continually sky-high replacement parts, what more in this era of rising global crude oil and increasing threat of food inflation
= Massive, massive depreciation, consequenting in negative equity
= Heartaches, looking at the repair bills (i'd be able to buy a Japanese car here, and mod it somewhat to hit the 180kmh Jap-factory speed limiter)
... only reason i can think of, knowing that i have a bigger chance of survival if i crash, that night when i hit 235kmh. :haha: God knows when i can do that again. They dont make highways like that, nowadays. :)
