Dear members,

The alarm was triggered last night and we tried to turn it off but the car did recognise the remote signal. Eventually the alarm turned off I believe because there was no power left.

With a flat battery I tried to jump start but with the only effect being a electronic 'rattling noise' and the start motor not being activated.

Is there a need for some resetting procedure to recover from such an event? Or has the whole electronic system collapsed?

Would be grateful if anyone could help?

Best regards

Dan

You have probably already fixed this problem, but I have it all the time with my police car fleet of XC90's. The video system in our cars has a tendancy to kill the batteries when they are parked for a long time. All you need to do is get the battery fully charged and start the car. The alarm will probably go off as soon as you charge/jumpstart the car and when you open any of the doors. To reset the alarm just turn the car off and restart it. Hope this helps. It is an annoying problem and it took me a while to figure out how to fix it.
